Stop Smoking Forever
Once you have decided to stop smoking and actually quit for a day or more you will suddenly begin to realize that staying a way from smoking is not as easy as you expected. Well, for some it may be very easy but for the others extremely difficult. So for those who might find it difficult to stay away from smoking below are some guidelines to help you stop smoking forever.
Triggers That Won't Help You Stop Smoking Forever
One of the most important easy way to stop smoking forever is to identify the triggers that will cause you to relapse and start smoking again. These triggers are normally:
- Justifying smoking again because stop smoking will cause weight gain.
- Thinking that smoking makes you concentrate more or your more productive at work.
- Boredom can cause you to relapse.
- Being around smokers.
There are many more other triggers that can cause you to relapse. Some triggers will be shared by everyone who has stopped smoking and some are very unique to each individual.
Over Coming Smoking Triggers
If you have smoked a cigarette since stop smoking don't worry too much and instead identify the reason or trigger that caused you to smoke and then draw up a plan to over come that trigger in the future, so that you can stop smoking forever. In fact the best way to over come triggers are to:
- Identify the possible triggers that you will face and then write them down.
- Draw up a plan in how to over come each trigger.
For example, one of the triggers could be gaining weight. So, you write down:
"If I have a cigarette at least i won't gain weight"
So the plan to over come this trigger is to write down all the other negative aspects you will gain if you start smoking again, and write down other ways to help you not to gain weight for example, having a simple exercise routine, eating the right kind of food, not eating the wrong kind of food and so on.
Most importantly remember that the triggers are more to do with the nicotine monster trying to trick you in to smoking!
